What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brands, the company sells numerous mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: Individuals with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a combination of pressure relief and bounce Most online bed mattress are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently purchase online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. Likewise, as with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva likewise offers a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.
Considerations: Wellsville 14 Gel Hybrid Mattress Reviews
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some movement, reducing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more motion than the High-end Firm and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Keep in mind: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We prepare to test the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show valuable if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your requirements change with time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I have actually spoken with ratings of professionals in the mattress market and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress display rooms, factories, and shops; and read the fine print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. However we do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
