What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under three trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these three brand names, the business offers a number of mattress models, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: Individuals with more particular firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a combination of pressure relief and bounce Most online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. Also, just like all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva likewise provides a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.
Factors to consider: Should You Get A Saatva Mattress
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, lowering how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva absorbs a little more motion than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs alter over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I have actually talked to scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in products science; visited dozens of bed mattress factories, shops, and display rooms; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
