What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Leave A Review For Saatva Mattress
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion, lowering how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more movement than the Luxury Company and Company options. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We plan to check the brand-new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re uncertain what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it offers a supple cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate resilience, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of specialists in the bed mattress market and in materials science; checked out lots of mattress showrooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the fine print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
